So why the manufacturer of this latest creation decided on such a random name seems a mystery. Most "MP4 players" are in fact using specially converted XviD AVI conversions not true MP4, so the creation of a device that plays just about anything (in theory) must be the next step and therefore worthy of the title MP5? The concept behind the MP5 player is of a device that can play almost any type of file without the need for conversion into one recognised format. These devices support most RM, RMVB and AVI (any AVI codec) files without any conversion at all; they also have new 2.8" widescreens which look very nice next to the standard 2.4" 4:3 TFTs. There's 4 GB of flash memory built into the unit and a micro SD slot for expansion memory cards.
